St Columb's Cathedral stands on a prominent site within the historic Derry Walls, and is Derry's/Londonderry's oldest building, being completed in 1633. Dedicated to the name of Saint Columba (Columb), the Ulster monk, who established a Christian settlement here in the 6th century, the historic cathedral has a small museum which houses various pictures and artefacts from the Siege, including the original locks to the City’s 4 gates.
